Replacement Resources are replacing generation with a new type of generation at an already active interconnection point on the grid. The new generator has to connect to the same voltage level at the same substation.

For example, you have a 200 MW gas generation that is 30 years old, and you want to replace with another generation asset to take its place.

When submitting tickets to the Help Center regarding Replacement resources, you need to be sure to include the GIA or J number or CPNode.

The application should be submitted at least 1 year before ceasing operation of the old generator or after old generator is under Suspension.

For more information about Generation Interconnection and how to submit a Replacement Resource Request (Section 6.7.2 of BPM-015).
