Surplus Resources are when you are adding an asset into an already studied GIA injection point.

For example, you have a 100 MW solar installation that has been studied and approved through the GIA process. You want to add a 50MW battery to it, so you can still inject your 100MW max on cloudy days. The battery would be considered a surplus resource.

When submitting tickets to the Help Center regarding Surplus resources, you need to be sure to include the GIA or J number or CPNode.
