MISO Market Participants operating electric generating facilities supply generator performance and generator event data referred to as GADS data as well as generator verification test capacity data referred to as GVTC to MISO through the PowerGADS application available through the Market Portal.
Access to PowerGADS is administered by each company’s named Local Security Administrator and requires the user to hold a digital certificate registered with MISO. If you do not have access to PowerGADS, please contact your Local Security Administrator.
NOTE: If you do not see the PowerGADS card, please contact your Local Security Administrator
Submitting Data in PowerGADS
To support the calculation of seasonal accreditation capacity (SAC) values, Market Participants must correct their annual GCVT data to four seasonal peaks instead of a single summer peak. Field level descriptions follow the GCVT screenshot shown below.
PowerGADS Unit Types
PowerGADS supports data submission for the following unit types:
Net (Generation) Capacity Verification Data Interface and Field Descriptions
Accessing Historical Information in PowerGADS
Market Participants may access historical verification data within the PowerGADS tool from the GADS 3.0 JBoss menu option in the top navigation bar and then selecting "Verification Data" as shown below.
Accessing Reports in PowerGADS
Market Participants may access system generated reports within the PowerGADS tool from the GADS 3.0 JBoss menu option in the top navigation and then selecting the "Reports" option as shown below.
Generator Availability Data Due Dates
Market Participants with generators with an output of greater than 10MW must submit generator performance and event data to MISO no later than 30 days after the last day of each quarter.
Data entry fields lock at the close of each due date. Attempting to revise GADS data after the quarterly due data results in the following error: “(Unit) is locked for the selected date.” To request MISO unlock your unit, please create a case in the MISO Help Center. Please be sure to include the utility and unit numbers and a brief explanation for the revision.
Net (Generator) Verification Test Date Due Dates
Market Participants with generation resources must submit GVTC data to MISO annually and no later than October 31.
