SCHEDULE 2 - REACTIVE SUPPLY AND VOLTAGE CONTROL
Change Schedule 2 revenue recipient
QUESTION
SOLUTION
The steps required to change Schedule 2 revenue from one MP to a different MP can differ based on the reason for the transfer. Both scenarios below will require the involvement of the current and the new revenue recipient.
Scenario 1:
No change in ownership has occurred. The current revenue recipient simply needs revenue to be collected by a different MP than currently receives it.
- The current revenue recipient should open a case in the MISO Help Center under Category: Supplemental Registration>Type: Schedule 2 – Reactive Power>Sub-Type: Transfer.
- The current revenue recipient should indicate a Requested Effective Date (should be the first day of a calendar month) and include the following information in the Description box:
- Affected generator(s) name(s)
- Affected generator(s) current annual revenue requirement(s)
- Affected generator(s) transmission pricing zone
- The new revenue recipient’s name and NERC ID
- The new revenue recipient should also open its own case in the MISO Help Center under Category: Supplemental Registration>Type: Schedule 2 – Reactive Power>Sub-Type: Transfer.
- The new revenue recipient should indicate a Requested Effective Date (should be the first day of a calendar month) and include the following information in the Description box:
- Affected generator(s) name(s)
- Affected generator(s) current annual revenue requirement(s)
- Affected generator(s) transmission pricing zone
- The existing revenue recipient’s name and NERC ID
Scenario 2:
A change in status, as defined by MISO’s Schedule 2, has occurred, which requires a change in revenue recipient. A change in status includes but is not limited to the sale or transfer of ownership or operations of a generation resource. Prior to submitting a case in the MISO Help Center, the parties involved should determine if a FERC filing is required, based on MISO’s Schedule 2.
- The selling party (the current revenue recipient) should make any required filing with FERC, then open a case in the MISO Help Center under Category: Supplemental Registration>Type: Schedule 2 – Reactive Power>Sub-Type: Terminate. A requested effective date should be specified, and the following information included in the Description box:
-
- Affected generator(s) name(s)
- Affected generator(s) current annual revenue requirement(s)
- Affected generator(s) transmission pricing zone
- The new revenue recipient’s name and NERC ID (this helps identify the corresponding case for the new revenue recipient)
-
- The acquiring party (the new revenue recipient) should make any required filing with FERC, then open a case in the MISO Help Center under Category: Supplemental Registration>Type: Schedule 2 – Reactive Power>Sub-Type: Add. All fields should be completed.
Once MISO has received all information and required filings/orders have been made/accepted, the change in revenue recipient will be executed.
